Dancing Robot Monkeys
Dance, monkey, dance!
Let's do a thought exercise- if you have a large number of small monkeys in an area, how would they behave? What if you could teach them to dance? What kind if dances would they do? Likely, you fear that your attempts to teach monkeys to dance would fail, with little more result than bite marks, scratches, and flying feces.
Thankfully, we have designed and produced a number (sixteen, to be exact) of little monkey robots. Without the fear of attack, we are free to teach these little monkeys to dance...and dance they do.
This was a quick and intense project, most especially because of the number of moving parts. Each monkey has a servo motor to control rotation and a solenoid that moves the arms up and down. The result is a comical movement and a quite active line of dancing monkeys. Video to come!
