Business Fertility Idol

Ancient Artifact Unearthed

In the early, primitive days of business, Monkey Wrench Design needed a jump-start but did not quite understand how things worked. A figure of a monkey deity was crudely fashioned out of rusty steel. The sculpture became a symbol of strength and inspiration to the workers of Monkey Wrench Design who often danced around it chanting to harness its powers. It signified ingenuity, quality, sustainability, craftsmanship, attention to detail, and satisfaction--principles integrated into all of the solutions put forth by Monkey Wrench Design.

As a piece of sculpture in the round, the monkey speaks to viewers. The mouth holds an image of a bolt, representing the strength and longevity of the business's work. Crafted with determination and care, no detail remained overlooked. Perhaps a reflection of the intricacies of the culture of production, the focal point of the piece, for both its eye-catching position within the work and stellar craftsmanship, is clearly the hand forged penis. The viewer's eye is immediately drawn to the burnished surface which delicately reflects and plays with rays of light, contrasted with the bed of rough solder drips. Scholars suggest the member symbolizes the artist's intentional metaphor to represent his business as a fertile ground able to produce many works. Truly a gesamtkunstwerk (total work of art) this sculpture reflects the naive yet raw, unadulterated, and entirely true to human life views of a primitive culture.
