The BeanCat

Relaxation in Motion

This project started as a muse on concealing driving mechanisms in everyday furniture. Why wouldn't anyone want to be able to drive their seat around the house, or, for that matter, outside the house? (Answer: There is no legitimate reason.) But who wants to see four huge, rubber tires on the bottom of the stool? (Answer: Rednecks.)

The result was the BeanCat, an all-wheel drive bean bag chair with the tightest turning radius of any bean bag in the world. Period. While it may be true that there are no other motorized bean bag chairs in the world, take our word for it- it's still a pretty awesome ride.

In the video below, see the fun you can have even after two solid days of being dropped, abused and driven so much at Maker Faire that one of the drive chains broke.
